Quick trip to Alden, MI
We bought our RV last fall but didn’t have a chance to take any trips in it until this spring. We recently took it to Alden, MI to drop off some of my pottery and tiles at the Torch Lake Conservation Center Artisan Market.
It’s exciting to have some of my art on display and for sale at a small artisan market that benefits the Torch Lake conservation efforts. If you are near Torch Lake this summer, I hope you’ll stop by the market and check out all the art that’s on display.
The main point of the trip was to drop off some of the art but also to test the RV before our big trip. We want to be familiar with all the various features of the RV and also identify any issues that need to be repaired before we leave.
We camped at the Turtle Creek Casino outside Traverse City. The campground was nearly empty and the casino was pretty quiet the day we visited too. That was kind of nice because we didn’t have to wait in line to get into their steakhouse, Seasons. It was also convenient that it was walking distance from the RV. We enjoyed a great dinner and dessert and then went back to the RV before storms hit. They rocked and rolled us pretty good but we came through them unscathed.
We headed back home the next morning so we could start working on the list of things for the RV and add some of our own touches to get it ready for the big trip at the end of June. It needs to feel like home. It will be our home for 7 weeks!
